course overview

Nuptse Peak lies on an elevation of 7861m, southwest of Mount Everest. The peak is aptly named as ‘Nuptse’ is the Tibetan word for ‘West Peak’. Tagged as a post-advanced climbing course, the laborious journey of 25 days of ascent towards the peak is rewarded with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains of the Everest range.

Trek through the incredible trails that connect rural Nepal and its culture. Stroll around the streets of Lukla and Namche Bazar, where you will be offered a chance to witness the daily livelihood of the locals, all the while interacting with them. You will be able to explore Buddhist and Hindu culture through the people and the heritage you will come across as you move forth.

Your journey will take you through various rest points that offer you stunning views of a large list of mountains, that include Kongde Ri, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Everest and so on.  The serenity of the high mountain air is sure to capture a special place in your memories for a lifetime.

Visit the eminent Tengboche Monastery, a sacred site for the Buddhists. This monastery was built in the nineteenth century and still stands tall showing entrancing Buddhist form of architecture. Take a stop at the Pangboche School built by Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust.

itinerary

Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (1350m)

You will arrive at the capital city, Kathmandu. The city is an amalgamation of numerous cultures and traditions which offer it a unique outlook. Our representatives will aid you to reach the Hotel of choice. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02-03 Theoretical session on post-advance climbing course

A theoretical session on a post-advance climbing course will be taken by an expert. Through this course, you will procure post-advance knowledge on climbing which will be essential to you, in order to successfully and safely complete your journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 04 Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2860m) (40 mins)

Take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lying on an altitude of 2860m, Lukla is a popular tourist destination with visitors mostly en route the Everest range. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 05 Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m)(5-6 hours)

From Lukla, take a trail to Namche Bazar, a small village that lies on an elevation of 3440m. Also known as ‘the gateway to Everest’, this village offers you a magnificent backdrop of two mountains above 6000m, Kongde Ri and Thamserku. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

Day 06 At leisure in Namche Bazar

Spend the day relaxing in the mountain air, as you stroll around the streets of Namche Bazar, interacting with the locals. You can also visit the marketplace where mostly Tibetian and Chinese goods are on display. Overnight in Namche Bazar.

Day 07 Trek to Thyangboche (3860m) (5-6 hours)

Take a trail from Namche Bazar to Thyangboche, a small village that lies on an elevation of 3867m. This village is popular for an important Buddhist monastery, Tengboche Monastery. This village offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Overnight in Thyangboche.

Day 08 Trek to Dingboche (4410m) (5-6 hours)

From Thyangboche, you will take a hike to Dingboche. Dingboche is a small village that lies on an elevation of 4410m and is a popular rest point for people en route Everest ranges for acclimatization purposes. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 09 Acclimatization day

We will spend the day getting used to the climate of the region. Acclimatization is an important part of mountain climbing in order to ensure a safe journey sans the fear of altitude sickness. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 10 Trek to Lobuche (4940m) (5-6 hours)

Lobuche is a small village that lies on an elevation of 4940m. The village is the final rest point for travelers before embarking on the Everest journey. Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 11 Trek to Nuptse Base Camp (5200m)

You will take a trail towards the Nuptse Base Camp. The base camp lies at an altitude of 5200m, all the while providing panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight in Nuptse Base Camp.

Day 12-14 Practical session on post-advance climbing course

An expert will take a practical session on post-advance climbing course. This session will span over a time of 2 days. In this time, you will put your theoretical knowledge to test and ensure that you have the proper practical knowledge in order to complete your journey.

Day 15-40 Ascent of Mt. Nuptse (7861m)

We have a total of 25 days to tackle the laborious climb towards the Nuptse peak. This time period also includes the necessary days set aside for acclimatization. As you ascend towards the peak, tackling the climate and the terrain, you will see incredible views of the surrounding Everest ranges.

Day 41 Back to Base Camp

You will descend towards the Base Camp, where you will start prepping for your journey back. Overnight in Nuptse Base Camp.

Day 42 Trek to Lobuche (4940m) (5-6 hours)

From the Base Camp, you will take a trail back to the village of Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 43 Trek to Pangboche (3985m) (5-6 hours)

From Lobuche, you will trek towards the village of Pangboche that lies at an altitude of 3985m. The village houses a school that was built by Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust in 1963. Overnight in Pangboche.

Day 44 Trek to Namche Bazar (3440m) (4-6 hours)

Take a trail back to Namche Bazar, where you can unwind after the long journey you have undertaken. Overnight in Namche.

Day 45 Trek to Lukla (2860m) (5-6 hours)

Take a trail back to Lukla from Namche Bazar. You can spend the evening strolling around the streets of Lukla, exploring the way of life of the place. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 46 Fly to Kathmandu (40 minutes)

You will take a flight back to the capital city, Kathmandu. You can choose to spend the evening exploring the city and its incredible heritage. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 47 Airport transfer for return flight
