Mt. Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world. Standing tall at an elevation of 8167m, Dhaulagiri I is a part of the Dhaulagiri range. Dhaulagiri is a Sanskrit word which can be translated as ‘dazzling, beautiful mountain’. Indeed, the view from the top is dazzling as well, which includes panoramic scenes of the surrounding mountain of the Dhaulagiri range.

Travel through some of the most rural parts of Nepal. As you travel through small villages, you will be offered a glimpse of the culture these places have kept intact. Interact with locals to get more comprehension of the country’s culture and their everyday lives.

Trek through village trails of Muri and Phaliya Gaon that will take you towards forested lands and cultivated hillsides, all the while providing beautiful backdrops of lush green hilly terrains. With the advent of places like French Col and Dhampus Pass in our journey, the scenery consists of icy slopes and snowy paths with majestic views of the mountainous terrain as the background.

Travel to Tukuche village that lies on the Kali Gandaki gorge, known to be the deepest gorge in the world. This village’s population majorly consists of Thakalis, an indigenous group of Nepal. You can get a glimpse of the unique culture of the Thakali people.

itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

You will arrive at the capital city, Kathmandu. This city is famous for the harmonious amalgamation of various cultures and religions which will be evident during your stay. Our delegates will help you to the Hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02-03 Theoretical session on Nirvana climbing course

You will receive a theoretical session on Nirvana climbing course through our experts. This session will provide you with the necessary theoretical knowledge in order to complete your journey.

Day 04 Drive to Beni (830m) and Darbang (1179m) (8-9hrs)

Take a comfortable ride towards the town of Beni. Located at an altitude of 830m, this place is famous for being on the converging point of two major rivers, Kali Gandaki and Myagdi River. Take a further ride towards the village of Darbang. Overnight in Darbang.

Day 05 Trek to Phaliya Gaon (1500m) (6-7 hours)

From Darbang, take a trail towards Phaliya Gaon. Located at an altitude of 1500m, this place offers you beautiful views of lush green cultivated hillsides. Overnight in Phalia Gaon.

Day 06 Trek to Muri (1850m) (3-4 hours)

Take a trail towards Muri from Phaliya Gaon. The village of Muri lies at an altitude of 1850m and offers a gorgeous backdrop of hills and mountains. Overnight in Muri.

Day 07 Trek to Boghara (2080m) (4-5 hours)

From Muri, you will take a trail towards Boghara. Lying on an altitude of 2080m, this place is the perfect scenic blend of green and rocky mountainous terrain. Overnight in Boghara.

Day 08 Trek to Dobang (2260m) (5-6 hours)

You will take a trail towards Dobang from Boghara. This trail will lead you through forested areas where you can witness the local nature of the region. As you reach Dobang, you will be offered a beautiful view of Dhaulagiri IV. Overnight in Dobang.

Day 09 Trek to Italian Base Camp (3660m) (6-7 hours)

From Dobang, you will trek towards the Italian Base Camp. This place lies at a height of 3660m and offers you mind-blowing perspectives of Dhaulagiri I and its encompassing mountains. Overnight in Italian Base Camp.

Day 10 Rest Day

You will spend a day resting and getting used to the climate of the region in the Italian Base Camp. This is called acclimatization and is incredibly important to prevent cases of altitude sickness.

Day 11 Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4600m) (6-7 hours)

You will trek towards the Dhaulagiri Base Camp from the Italian Base Camp. Here, you will make arrangements to handle your further voyage to Mt. Dhaulagiri. Overnight in Dhaulagiri Base Camp.

Day 12-14 Practical session on Nirvana Climbing Course

You will undergo a practical session on Nirvana Climbing Course with one of our experts. This session will give you an opportunity to put into action the theoretical knowledge you previously received. This session will also ensure that you have the required practical knowledge to complete your journey.

Day 15-41 Climbing period Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m)

We have set aside a total of 26 days as the climbing period of Mt. Dhaulagiri. The days set aside for rest and acclimatization are also included. As you ascend on the peak of Mt. Dhaulagiri that lies at an altitude of 8167m, you will see a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains of the Dhaulagiri range. You will also make your way back towards the Dhaulagiri Base Camp.

Day 42 Trek to French Col (5360m) (5-6 hours)

You will trek towards the French Col. The French Col, also known as the French Pass lies at an altitude of 5360m. This trail leads you through icy sloped paths. Overnight in French Col.

Day 43 Cross French Col and trek to Kharkha Camp (7-8 hours)

You will cross French Col and take the trail towards Kharkha Camp, once again passing through icy slopes and rocky mountain terrain. Overnight in Kharkha Camp.

Day 44 Cross Dhampus Pass (8-9 hours)

You will cross another prominent point, Dhampus Pass as you take a trail from Kharkha Camp. Overnight in Dhampus Pass.

Day 45 Trek to Tukuche (2590m) (6-7 hours)

You will trek towards Tukuche from Dhampus Pass. Lying on an altitude of 2590m, Tukuche is a village that falls on the Kali Gandaki gorge. You will be able to witness the unique Thakali culture of Nepal in this village. Overnight in Tukuche.

Day 46 Drive to Beni

From Tukuche, you will take a comfortable ride back towards the town of Beni. Overnight in Beni.

Day 47 Drive to Kathmandu (9-10 hrs)

You will take a comfortable ride back to the capital city, Kathmandu. Our representatives will aid you to your hotel. You can choose to spend the evening exploring this gem of a city. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 48 Departure from Kathmandu
